Noble Energy: Flood shutdowns cut production by 2,000 barrels a day

The devastating September floods that damaged, roads, communities and infrastructure throughout northern Colorado also caused production losses of about 2,000 barrels of oil per day for Noble Energy Inc., one of the biggest oil and gas companies working in the Denver-Julesburg Basin north of Denver.

Oil and gas companies shut down an estimated 1,900 wells in the path of the floodwaters in mid-September, including 758 operated by Noble (NYSE: NBL). The company is based in Houston with significant operations in Colorado.

The company on Monday said about 4 percent of its wells remain offline and that the company’s drilling rigs have returned to operation.
