Court backs Wyoming on refusal to reveal fracking ingredients

A state court has backed the Wyoming state government’s position that it doesn’t have to make public the chemical ingredients that oil and gas companies use in hydraulic fracturing.

The Associated Press reported Monday that Natrona County (Wyo.) District JudgeCatherine Wilking ruled that the Wyoming Oil and Gas Conservation Commission acted reasonably in denying a request from environmental groups that it disclose the fracking ingredients on the grounds that they are trade secrets.
