At the December 5th, Wells Fargo Energy Conference, Ultra Petroleum reported that the core results from three wells drilled in 2012 were showing mixed results. The core analysis contained full shale log suites, core and pressure data for the three wells. The company will be collaborating with an offset operator to test a Niobrara well this winter.
The company believes it has resource exposure of 200,000 to 400,000 bbls of oil per well from three resistive Niobrara benches. Ultra Petroleum has 21 square miles of 3D seismic data for its El Paso county properties and has also mapped thickness, thermal maturity, and net oil pay.
